Rules:
Follow the Waunakee Student Handbook
Respect for each other, the school house, staff and yourself
Phones off and away
Come to class prepared
Pay attention, do your work and ask questions (participation will be part of your grade)
No congregating at the door before the bell rings at the end of class (personal pet peeve)
Folders:
You will each have a file folder with your name on it. It is where I will put daily work, return graded work and you will place your completed assignments. It should save us valuable class time. You should clean out your folder after each unit and put the materials in a binder or folder for safe keeping. These things will be very useful for studying for the AP.
Grades:
Daily worksheets will be worth 5 points each unless otherwise stated.
Essays will be worth 10 points unless otherwise stated.
Participation will be graded depending on the project. Peer reviews will be used depending on the group work.
Late work will be accepted up until the end of the unit. The amount of points awarded will depend on the assignment and circumstances. My general rule of thumb has been to reduce work by 10% for each day late.
Nothing is carved in stone as exceptions will be made depending on circumstances.
Final Exam: 80 points: mostly multiple choice, but some short answer questions (given a graph or a scenario where you will have to figure out what policy to implement and explain why, etc.) There will also be opportunities for extra credit.
